GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT

Development is a multi-faceted concept. It involves growth and advancement, progress and success. The means of achieving development are also numerous and varied. From education to loans to Internet access, development in the 21st century is all about creating opportunity.

40% of the world’s 6 billion people live on less than USD$2 a day. Hunger is a daily problem for 12 percent of the population. Most people in developing countries have no access to basic financial services and very few people have access to information through tools such as the Internet.

The Didier Rault Foundation’s Global Development Initiative focuses on creating opportunity for the world’s hungry and poor. Agriculture is a major focus of our efforts through programs that help increase crop yield and improve access to fair markets. We support programs that provide basic financial services and micro-financing to low-income communities. We promote education for small business owners and support job-training programs. And we help groups and organizations that are committed to improving the flow of information in the world by providing free access to the Internet.

The Didier Rault Foundation believes that effective, sustainable development can be achieved in our lifetime. Our efforts will continue until this goal is accomplished.
